Club Penguin

Club Penguin is an online virtual world that children all around the world play and visit everyday.
In the icey world, players can interact, dress up, design their "igloos" and meet other players. Regular events keep the island activated, (e.g. The Puffle Festival, The Circus, Festival of Flight) and monthly catalogs add 1-7 new items each month for you to buy furniture, clothes and accesories from.
However, the original Club Penguin was owned by Miniclip, but was (very sadly) sold to Disney. Now, Disney is not making Club Penguin free. You CAN join for free, but it is very boring. Non-paying players do not get to purchase their own clothes, design their igloo, play instruments, buy furnitutre, or attend most festivals. Paying players ("Members") get to do all the usual things.
For a months membership, it costs £3.95, for six months £19.95, and for a year £37.95. What a rip off. Children are paying their own pocket money just to play with their friends on the internet and express their creativity. Most parents think that children should not pay the money themselves, and pay it for them but is this right? To the left is an example of a member player, and to the right a non member. Quite a large difference, I think you will have to agree.

This is the Club Penguin Map. It has changed a lot since the original one several years ago:
In your "igloo" (nicknamed iggy) you may keep "puffles". There are eightin all, the red puffle, blue, pink, purple, black,  green, yellow and white. Recently, there was rumours that a new orange puffle would be released on Febuary 19th, so fingers crossed!  On the right is a picture of a black puffle, who seems to be unusually happy from its normally moody and grumpy state.

So yeah, apart from the membership issue in Club Penguin,  everything else I love about it. Hopefully children will be playing this for years to come.

Taylor Swift

Hey its me, with my second post a few seconds after the first.

This post is all about my favourite singer for the past six months, Taylor Swift. I was introduced to her by my friend and now I play all her songs everyday, can recite them all, and have brought most of them, no kidding.

Taylor Swift is 19 on December 13th, and is an american country/pop singer, songwriter and actress.

Okay, here are my favourites, these are all hyperlinked.

1. You Belong With Me I hope you like the video but i don't know about you but i think it rocks! Me and my best friend were playing it on my phone all down the high street!
OK, this was like, number 5 in the UK charts last year, and i have to admit, it rocks the world.
I have to admit this was VERY close to the next one for the fight for my number 3. This was my favourite for a while, and i think its beautiful.
This is mega- Taylor Swift wrote this for a ninth grade Talent Show- I know, and its awesome.
The video for this is her at a concert and if you watch it, half way through it shows the crowd and there must be millions. At one point it looks like she's shaking, poor thing.
This is another one Tay wrote, during a maths class when she was sixteen. It's a true story about her and her boyfriend.
This is a GORGEOUS video and beautiful song that she made by collecting all her home videos, as its dedicated and all about her mum. It made me cry thinking about my mum.
If you like this song, it is 100% guaranteed to get stuck in your head!
I love the music in this video, and its a little depressing.
Hee hee this is another song which i100% guaranteed to get in your head. Some of the lyrics are hard to make out but if you look them up they're gorgeous.

Ok, i guess that wraps up my favs, but can i just say i love Tell Me Why and The Way I Loved You but there weren't any videos unless i hyperlinked a unofficial one and that would be invading the person who made the unofficial one's privacy, if that makes sense.
This is Mizzy Giggles, with her first review, signing off.
:)

Animal Crossing Wild World

Animal Crossing WW is where you have your own town, name it, create 1-4 characters and name them as well. When you first start, you arrive in a taxi and go straight to your town hall. Your character has his/her small house at the start which the local shopkeeper, Tom Nook (Greedy Racoon) has built for you. Tom makes you work for him delivering parcels to customers until the job is done. Then, he reduces your mortgage 1.200 bells. Every time you pay your mortgage Tom expands his store from his garden shed with only two pieces of furniture a day to a MASSIVE department store with hairdressers and a second floor. Your house also grows every time you pay your mortgage.

There are LOADS of different characters which are animals that move in and out of your town. They each have different personalities as well. For instance: Pompom(Duck) is a peppy, fun duck who makes friends easily, but Matilda(Kangaroo) is more snooty and cares about herself a bit more than she should do.

In your town, different festivals come up. There is the Flea Market, were you shop in different animals houses and they shop in yours, the Fishing Tourney try and catch big fish, and many more. Animal Crossing WW also goes with the seasons, so it snows from December to mid February. If you go to the Museum Café at 8pm onwards till 12am on a Saturday night, a Dog called KK Slider will appear on the stage and if you listen to him without a request, he gives you free CDs for the Radio at your house!

Bells-Money. i.e. 1.2oo bells= £5
Museum- A building in your town which collects fish, paintings, fossils and insects.
Tom Nook- A greedy male racoon who loves money and runs the local shop.
Town Hall-A building where you can post letters and pay mortgage.

What's good?

The game is really good, especially as you can chop down trees, plant flowers, catch bugs and fish and so much more! You can design your house any way you want, even create your own clothes, wallpaper, carpets and umbrellas! Or you can buy them at Tom’s or a resident might give a free one if you are very good friends!

How might it be improved?

Animal Crossing Wild World could be improved by only two things: Ressiti and Weeds. Ressiti is a mole who if you did not save your game last time, and oh he gives you an extremely long lecture about random things. But, if you’re too lazy to bother having too listen to him, all you do is wait in your doorstep for about a minute, then save. AC will automatically think you have been through Ressiti, and let you save!

What am I learning?

During the first year I had AC, I adored it! I still am. I learnt that never press power instead of saving, and do not leave AC for a long time as thousands of weeds pop up and your town will be ruined! I recommend this game more to girls than boys as it has some girly things, but most boys will love it too! I think I recommend this for people age 8+ as even adults like it too!
